Myotherapy Massage Center, Inc. Office Policy Updates: January 2023
Massage Therapy is a health care service that is performed in close contact. The COVID-19 pandemic has made the risks of such close contact more apparent. Myotherapy Massage Center remained closed for much of the first year of the pandemic to minimize the risks to our therapists and clients. In re-opening our doors, we committed to maintaining as safe an environment as we know how, and as of January 2023, the following are some clarifications of our office policies:
1. We expect that anyone who comes to our office is free from illness. If anyone has a fever or has been in close contact with someone with COVID or another infectious disease, please reschedule your appointment. We do have an office thermometer, but we hope that we won’t have to turn anyone away once they are at our door. If you have a fever or a cough, please do not come to our office.
2. Our therapists are fully vaccinated, and will continue to wear face masks for protection. We always thoroughly wash our hands before and after working on clients.
3. Everyone is required to wear face masks everywhere in our facility. Also, please be sure to cover and let us know about any cuts/open wounds on your body.
4. A note about skin: most of our work is skin-to-skin, but sometimes we are working over a sheet or clothing. Either way, please let us know ahead of time of any cuts or blemishes or bruises. Even a paper cut can get infected and sometimes they are hard to see until after we’ve rubbed on it. Please help us keep everyone healthy.
5. Hand sanitizer is placed in each room, and by the entrance. Sinks with soap and clean towels are also accessible in the bathrooms. We expect everyone to use them.
6. Air purifiers are run in each treatment room, as well as the main sitting room.
7. All linens are changed between clients.
8. Solid surfaces are cleaned with sanitizing wipes between clients.
9. Payment can be made with cash, check, gift certificate, Venmo, or Square (which takes most types of credit cards as well as debit cards, etc.)
10. We work by appointment. We have reserved the time for our clients. If you are not able to make your appointment, please let us know asap so we can either give the time to someone else or at least so we don’t worry about you. We understand that things happen, but please be respectful of our time and let us know if something changes. Missed appointments for no reason, or less than 24 hrs notice, are expected to pay for our time.
11. Inclement weather is a good excuse to reschedule. If there is a storm coming – rain or snow or ice or wind – please be careful and we can reschedule. Please do not put yourself - or us - at risk for a massage.
12. We have a very small business so we can do things more individually, but we ask that you are respectful and communicate.
